Bedroom Redo Part 2

Hello friends.
We had an awesome weekend for both stores.
It warms our heart that so many customers
came out to support us.
Many even told us to keep the change...
which I did not do, however a generous gesture.

Today I wanted to show you more
of  my bedroom redo.

I added my faux fern plant inside this hornbeam.
Hornbeam is a hardwood tree.
It grows in most parts of the U.S.
It was mainly used for tool handles,
walking sticks and hollowed out to hold
potatoes, corn other food stuff.
Let's say it was a pioneers pantry.

No matter what time of day,
I could not get a really good pic
of this corner.

My antique rocking horse sits on top

of this chippy creamy white cabinet.

The coverlet is an overshot pattern.
Overshot patterns began as a way
for weavers to express themselves
with more intricate designs.
With these types of patterns,
coverlets could be sewn together
to make larger ones.
Did you know weavers of their time
were men only?

Again so sorry for the poor pic.

While working at the gift shop
this weekend,
in between customers,
I was able to hook some small
Autumn items which will be sold
 at the store.
Will show you once steamed,
binded and put together.
Wonderful Autumn colors!

Well off to the back room
to go to work.

Happy first day of June!

Pre Summer Blessings To All!
Janice

    1. I do cherish my horses. I purchased the teddy from a friend who no longer wanted it. The chair another friend made for me. Both loved. Janice

  7. Love your beautiful horse! I have an area in my house where I can't get a photo no matter the time of day or the weather...It's looking out on windows like yours are. Glad to hear it was a good weekend at the shops...hope the latest state of things doesn't impact you negatively. Such scary times.... ~Robin~ (PS...I have no way to respond to your comments on my blog posts and for some reason, I don't get an email notification so I can't respond in that manner either.... I am not ignoring you LOL...Anyways, the mermaid pattern did not come with the fabric, but the designer had the linen specially printed for the pattern and made it available for purchase. It was too perfect not to purchase it LOL)

    1. Yes not sure why you no longer see my comments. Blogger is pretentious. The linen makes your mermaid stitchers just perfect! We just hope store sales continue for all small businesses. It has been hard on everyone. Janice

  9. The rocking horse reminded me of my childhood who had fallen down because I was very excited to ride it 😅.
Decor your house nice, look hommy.

    Greetings from Indonesia.
