A Feature Wall

Good morning all!
Hope everyone is staying safe.
More of the big box stores have closed now.
Kohls, Best Buy, Joanne and Michaels
to name a few.
So glad I have a stash of fabric and wool.

Working on both strawberries and a
new lil witch for Halloween.

Sunday I spent the morning
re-arranging our living room
for Spring and Summer.

With that I wanted to Spring up
my dry sink.

Tied a sweet light green and white
gingham bow around my horse.

Added my Spring floral garland
on top of my picture.

Changed up my bench a bit too.
Am thinking though I need to add something
to the left of my sampler.
Not sure yet.

Bob has been working on Summer themed
wood projects at the new store.
A few folks have been coming in to purchase food.
Some even thanked him for staying open.
We will keep the antique store closed
until the end of the month for now.
Am hoping we can re-open again,
but not sure yet.

How did you spend your weekend?
Are you changing up for Spring?

Feature Wall Blessings To All!
Janice

  3. I am glad I have a hoarded stash of wool and unfinished projects as well. However, my husband and I did do some "cleaning" this weeked. We emptied the section of our basement we wanted to paint. Now I'm living with tubs in my dining room, but they are our daughter's old toys...they are going to take them to their houses now...yay!

  4. I did have to work at the hospital on Saturday and yesterday we took time to have a private church service..just Jack and me...and had a nice lunch. I had gotten Spring flowers to change out the Winter ones at the cemetery where Jack's parents are buried. So we took the dog and did that and enjoyed the one day of sunshine we've had in a long time! I'm home today and will clean and bring out the Easter decor. I'm trying to keep optimistic that by Easter this may have eased up a bit. Also I quit listening to the news! Have a good week!

    1. Thank you for all that you do in this crisis! We will not be able to have Easter as we will still be in lockdown. Janice

  5. Hurry and get your witch finished so we can see her. I have been working on whatever I have materials for. Love your spring, so many of us are just skipping over it and that's not really fair, at least we should celebrate it in our own homes. I just watched our governor, we mostly are already doing that. I have one nurse daughter and one grandson UPS, one granddaughter in the bank. Good you remind us to think spring.

  6. What pretty vignettes you have created, Janice. I hope you will be able to get some small business relief to help with the rent for your buildings and keep you open after this is over. It must be so difficult, especially after the investment in the new store, too. I have enough projects to keep me going well beyond the virus, so long as it doesn't add me to its numbers. In many ways I am glad Michigan is locking down but I feel for people in your situation deeply.

  8. So sorry about the antique store. Seville Antiques, about an hour from me...wonderful, "real" antique shop, is also closed. So sad and scary what is happening.

  9. Oh...my....that horse is positively dreamy... I don't believe that I've seen it in all the time that I've been reading your blog. Also loving the chippy frame on that portrait. Gah! Yes, it's a new normal all over I fear.... We go on lock-down starting at 8 a.m. tomorrow... (well, the governor calls it a "safer-at-home" order. Weekend?? Hmmm...can't rightly remember...all the days seem to be blending together of late. Stay safe...stay well...stay sane. ~Robin~

    1. Thank you Robin. I purchased this horse a few years ago. It is from the 50's and not from the 1800's. Good luck with your lock down. I am able to work from home and extremely busy since I am a banker. During lunch I stitch now daily. Janice

  10. Janice, it all looks so pretty. I absolutely love that little horse and the bow just looks wonderful on him. I was just looking at the wall over my sofa and even though I love those house pictures, I would love to change it up to something more spring and summer looking. As I don't have any pictures big enough to take their place, maybe a garland over them would help. I sure like how your's looks..Stay well..xxoJudy
