For The Love Of Hearts

Happy Tuesday my friends!
Well tonight we are expecting an ice storm to come in.
Last weekend's warmer temperatures brought
us some relief from the ice jam.
It is still there, but at least in some spots,
we can see open water.

The other day as I was driving along the river,
I saw a group of 6 young adults out
on the ice.
BAD BAD
They are so lucky as when I passed
they were coming to shore.
Although the ice is jammed,
the water is still flowing along with the river,
and unlike a frozen lake...
they could have been swept away.
Us locals know it is very dangerous
to try and walk out on the ice.
Even in the Summer one cannot
swim across because of the undertows.
The undertows will drag you down and
you will drown because you cannot swim to the top.

Today I wanted to show you my latest
Valentine display.

With a warm glow of candlelight.

Hearts galore

fill my mold with Love!

Do you decorate for Valentines?

This year I only did our living room,
and my CupboardScape in the kitchen.

I did however keep my lights & garland
up around the doorways into the kitchen.

It continues to brighten me up
through these Winter nights.

More of these hearts are for sale at our store.

For The Love Of Heart Blessings To All!

    1. How sad Cathy. Young folks think they are invincible I'm afraid. I was ,ike that once..but fortunately did not do too many stupid things. Janice

  2. I hope your ice storm fizzled!
Young people think they are invincible and unfortunately sometimes it ends in tragedy.

  3. Beautiful display, Janice! So glad those young adults made it back to shore! It could have been an awful tragedy. I put out a few little things for Valentine’s Day. Have a wonderful day my friend. Lori

  5. Look at all of those gorgeous hearts you made! They are so pretty all grouped together in the bowl as well.

Your river story is scary! I am glad those 6 people did not hit a patch of thin ice and fall in. What a risk to do what they did. It sounds like your area is in the throes of a fierce Winter while today it hit 81 down here. Crazy weather everywhere. One front after another sending rains, ice, snow and all manner of troubling weather. When it gets too warm down here, the next cold front can bring awful thunder storms and flooding rains. Stay warm and safe when you have to drive!

PS, I have been fiddling around with my Google account tonight and maybe I figured out a new way to be able to post? At least it worked this time. Keeping my fingers crossed that this process will work going forward!

  6. Glad you were able to post. Always love it hen you stop by. Yes we have been having some crazy weather here this Winter. More freezing rain this morning again.
It was a foolish thing to do walking out on the ice and so glad they did not fall in.
I have more of these hearts that are currently for sale. I took them to our store last week. Working on bunnies and strawberries right now. After our Spring show I have to make the turkeys that I promised.
Well off to work I go.
Have a great day Winnie! Janice

  7. Running a bit behind I guess....but oh I love your hearts!! Yes, I usually do decorate for Valentines....This year, though, I was so slow taking Christmas down that I did not get much of my heart stuff out/up. The stitched, punched, hooked things I managed to get out as they were right by the Christmas textiles I put away, but now I am thinking it is too late to bother with the rest LOL. Nasty weather all around... We had 8” of snow on Tuesday (when you posted this I believe), another 8” or so on Thursday (after a bit of ice), and then the past 2 days were thrown back to -30 windchills....and more snow tomorrow. Ok, spring, I’M READY!!!
