Winter Displays

I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Because of the frigid temps,
I stayed inside except for going out to get groceries.
Now it is snowing.

For those who know me,
I so love decorating for all of the Holidays.
It gives me an excuse to change things up all of the time.
My mom use to do this as well,
so I kept up this simple tradition.
Although the Christmas is put away
until the end of the year,
now I have transitioned into my Winter decor.

Mr Snowman is very dear to me
as my dad made this for me,
while my mom added the plaid scarf.
I will cherish this forever!

I purchased this candle mat from a blogging friend...
but alas cannot remember from whom.
So please if it was you, give yourself the credit.

One little Winter display.

Here is another one.

With the sun shining, it was hard to get a good pic
of my homestead pillow.

Faux artichokes and apples mixed in with greens.

Since I spend more time indoors this time of year,
it makes me smile to extend the decor
with a few lights for awhile.
However I do have Valentine's on my mind. ;-)

I also have more displays to show.

Do you decorate for the Winter after Christmas?

Well off to work.
I think 3 more inches of snow fell overnight.
It is snowing right now.
Not going to be a fun ride into work. UGH
But at least it is not freezing anymore!

Winter Display Blessings To All!
Janice

  1. Love your displays. I decided to keep up some greenery in the kitchen on top of my kitchen dresser. Also I bought some carnations and added to them some holly leaves, twisted willow and cones to it for a wintery not overly Christmas look.

    1. What a great idea to use carnations and holly and naturals for a display. I will have to remember that for next Christmas.

  3. Hope your drive to work was a safe one. We got ice during the night so we are staying put til it leaves first! I also enjoy filling in the holes Christmas decorations leave behind with some winter things. Seasonal decorating is fun...like playing with a doll house hen young.

    1. It was a little sketchy at one point of my drive where the river is close to the road. If it were not for the mailboxes, I might have driven into the river. It was nothing but white. I so agree about seasonal decor. It is like playing. Janice

  6. At my other home I had a 4ft tree that I kept up year round and changed each month. My kids thought I was crazy. I had friends come over each month just to see that tree. It was fun at the time. Now I just decorate differently...but still do. Cannot wait to see your mom's antique valentines. Such sweet memories they must have brought you. Janice

  8. Let's see if the third time is the charm. Two comments were lost but I think it is my darn computer.
I do not decorate for winter, but do still have a snowman on the porch and a couple winter rugs in the house. I did decorate a Valentine tree for the first time in years.
We have not gotten the snow like you have, but with yesterday's warmer temps and cold overnight, it's icy today.
    Stay safe!

    1. You must show off your Valentine tree. I am planning on doing one or two myself...so stay tuned. No ice on the road, but the river is jammed.Too early for ice in the river, but its here because of the wicked cold temps we have had. Janice

  9. Hi Janice: For some reason your kind comment to me didn't show up in my inbox, I just saw it on the post. Don't know why that would happen, but anyway, thank you for your visit and I am enjoying to see how you decorate for winter. Love the story of your cute snowman. I have quite a collection of snowmen that I don't put out for Christmas. I save them for the month of January so the house doesn't look so bare after the Christmas is put away. Thanks again for your visit and please come again..Judy
