One Is The Loneliest Number

Hi friends.
For those of you who remember the 70's,
Three Dog Night sang
One Is The Loneliest Number.
Now that may be true in relationships,
but in decorating, the number one can stand on its own.

Just as long as it makes a statement,
meaning if it is a big enough piece,
for your shelf or table ~
leave it alone.

Why crowd it with something else?

Its beauty alone will shine through.

Let it be.

It will thank you for it.

Do you have any statement pieces that you display
as one piece on a table or shelf?
Remember 1 can be a good thing!

Oh and before I leave,
I found something hiding in my ivy.

More on this invasive species in another post.
All I can say is they are multiplying like rabbits. LOL

One And Only One Blessings To All!
Janice

  1. I see that sweet bunny hiding! I do remember the song very well. I like your stand alone pieces. Due to my 5 cats, most of my special pieces are behind the doors of a curio/china cabinet! Wishing you a lovely evening. xo

  3. Your decorating tips are making more and more sense as I see what you do. I think it all depends on the space and the item and how that item fills the space. You have a well trained eye for size, space and color which is why your decorating comes out right. I am working on mine right now. Hehehe, I need A LOT of practice!!

That invasive species??????? Betcha it is pretty darn fun and cute! Just sayin'

  4. Hi Janice,
I have some things I love to display alone like my big trencher in the middle of my dining room table filled with pomegranates and pears, an old bowl with cookie cutters, a large stoneware jug and a large old basket on a small stand!
Thanks for sharing more great tips, my friend!
