Frozen In

Frozen in and still sick.
Good evening sweet blogging buddies.
I had to go back to the doctor yesterday.
Still have the kroopy cough as my gramma H would say.
Doc gave me a shot, more pills, nasal spray
and also wants me to take Clariton D for a bit.
Hopefully this will work.
As I said before and told the doc,
 I an sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Now for the frozen in part.
Bob and I went to town in the morning
on the last weekend before the freighters
laid up for the Winter.
This freighter was stuck (frozen) in the ice near our dock.

This one was stuck behind the one by our dock.
We counted 4 that were frozen in.
On the way back home there were 9 stuck in the ice. 

The ice damaged our dock...has to be fixed in the Spring.

I managed to also get on camera the
Queen of the Lakes
This is the biggest freighter that sails our Great Lakes.

All ships use the female pronoun.
However this Queen of Lakes
is actually called the Paul R Tregurtha.

It is 1012 feet long, while the average freighter is 750 feet.
She makes a coal run weekly from Duluth MN to our St Clair power plant.
It always amazes me that these freighters can stay afloat.
She was gliding through the ice with ease North of the ice jam 
which was by our house.

Although these pics were taken weeks ago,
we still have a few freighters out there that have not laid
up for Winter, and are stilll getting stuck in the ice.
Good thing the US and Canadian Coast Guard is able to free them...
eventually.

Temps are going to be bitterly cold tonight.
Sunday our furnace died at the store...
our landlord finally got it fixed yesterday afternoon,
after Bob told him that he was going to call our furnace guy
and send the bill to him.
Today Bob walked into to 4 inches of water on the floor.
A pipe had burst because the furnace was out for 3 days.
So Bob and my son spent the day with a wet vac and mop
cleaning up the mess.
Hopefully Bob can open up tomorrow.
