Colors Galore

Good morning sweet friends.
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

I never knew there were so many color shades of white.
Wow...these are just a few of what I picked out.
I am trying to match the color of our door.
Can you believe I picked over 45 samples,
and not one matches the door.
Really?

I only picked a few shades of grey and tan.
I am leaning more on a tan.
We think if we choose a darker brown,
it will be too dark in the room.

Then there were the hardwood choices.
I narrowed this down to two samples.

Distressed Oak and Hickory.

Bob likes the Oak because it already has small dings and gouges in it.
These samples were from Home Depot and Lowes.
We also went to Lumber Liquidators, but the wood floors we liked there
were more expensive.
Really?

Any thoughts on our color choices?

Hopefully our shows will be good in the upcoming weeks,
so we can finish the room now.
The store has been very slow as the ferry from Canada has been shut down
since Christmas because of the ice.
Being a seasonal town, our Winter customers are from Canada.

Furnace guy comes this morning to replace our hot water tank,
and then starting on the furnace.

Color Choice Blessings To All!
Janice

  3. Oh Janice....I cannot imagine making so many decisions. When we first began restoration of our farm, we made sure to pick one white for everything....settled on Martha Stewart's "Daisy White". In my prior house, we had used a different white each time we painted, and touch up was always so confusing.
Best of luck with all your decisions!

  6. Hello,
How exciting. Yet, it is hard to decide so many colors and wood.
I know it will be amazing. I am so excited to see the finished product.
    Best wishes!

  8. I'm the worst at decisions - don't understand how there can be so many shades of white LOL. A warm white/linen with distressed oak? I would love to have distressed wood floors someday! Good luck with your shows! ~*~Lisa

  9. We struggled to fine the perfect white for a long time. At the time we had light colored carpet so we had to find something that went well with it. The Sherwin Williams store finally suggested Navaho White...my entire house is now Navaho White...well, except for a certain girl's pink bedroom! Bathrooms, kitchen, living room...all the Navaho White. It works for us!
    Good luck,
    Robyn

  10. Decisions, decisions!!! I think you should just go with what both of you love and it will turn out PERFECTLY!! Sometimes we can just over think something and make ourselves crazy!!! Wonder why I know that......hmmm?
I look forward to seeing it all come together and KNOW it will be just wonderful!! Oh, and BTW, I LOVE your penny rug!! I started one over a year ago and have a whole bunch of pennies stitched in stacks and one of these days I will try to get them sewn together......just another project on my "to do" list, that keeps growing longer and longer!!!
    Enjoy your day!
    Warm Hugs~
