Using What You Have

Good morning sweet blogging friends.
It is snowing here again,
Suppose to get another 2 to 5 inches.
I hope everyone who lost power
from that snowstorm last week,
are now back up now.
Not fun losing power.

For those of you who like coffee
and need that pick me up in the morning,
you will understand how desparate Bob was the other morning.
He needs his coffee before functioning.
I on the other hand, do not care for it.

We recieved this Starbucks Christmas Blend
coffee as a present.
Well when Bob opened it to try it,
it was whole beans.

Alas it sat on top of the microwave...

Bob did not want to grind up the coffee..
said he did not have time to do it.

The coffee jar was empty.
I did not know we needed any,
and Bob forgot to tell me to buy some.
Well guess what he did?

He brought down the coffee grinder
from my cupboard and ground up that bag of coffee.

Now the funny thing about this whole story..
if you notice in the above pic to the right...
we have a carousel of coffee for our Keurig.
There was some coffee in the carousel.

This is why Bob needs his coffee in the morning.
He did not even think to just pop a K cup in.
He is just so use to putting coffee in a separate cup
we have for the Keurig that he forgot we had some. LOL

What is your pick me up in the morning?
Could you function without it?

Coffee Blessings To All!
Janice

  1. Morning Janice, oh pass me a cup of coffee please, love me a cuppa. I also bought the Starbucks Christmas blend, enjoyed it but yes, ground the beans first. Stay warm and cozy, Hugs Francine.

  2. I am totally like Bob! I can't function in the morning without it. Once I drink 2 or 4 cups I am good to go ( black coffee only). I have been drinking coffee since I was 16. When did Bob start?
Our coffee pot stopped working this morning so Norm had to go out in the shop and bring his pot in. Have to make a trip to get a new one today.
    Hope it stops snowing.

  3. Janice that was perfect that Bob got out your beautiful grinder and made his coffee.
Your grinder is a awesome piece.
We only got about 3 to 4 inches of snow last night thank goodness.
    Stay safe and warm,
    Hugs

  4. Good Morning, Janice. I confess that I drink one cup of coffee each a.m. and suffer with a headache if I skip it! That is a beautiful grinder.
    Blessings to you this day.

  5. Hi Janice,
Even though the other is so much easier, I just think your hubby wanted to do it the old fashioned way, and besides, it smells so good freshly ground!! I am one of those weird people that likes the SMELL of coffee, but NOT the TASTE!!! I lived in WA for almost 10 years with Starbucks on every corner and only went to one a few times.....for tea or hot chocolate!!
I have to have a cup of English Breakfast Tea with sugar and milk to start my day off right!!!
    Stay warm and safe!
    Warm Hugs~

LOL Only one drinks it without cream!! I LOVE lot's of cream!! God bless those old antiques!! Just think if we had to use them all the time!! And how cool it still worked!! Antiques are so much better made now that's for sure!! Stay warm n cozy my Michigan friend!! XOXO Love Fran.

  7. I NEED a cup before I can even open my eyes all the way in the morning. My friend sent me the whole bean blend with a tiny little electric grinder. Love that Bob used the vintage grinder. On the weekends we have a pot going all day long...off to brew a new pot - hope you don't get that snow! ~*~Lisa
