The Modern Kitchen

Good afternoon sweet friends.
No snow today but the skies are getting dark in the West.
The rain is a coming.

Been absent for a few days.
I do apologize.
Had to travel this week for work,
and so tired when I get home that I do not even have
the energy to visit with you all.

This post is a few pics of a modern kitchen...
well let's say a modern kitchen for the hard working
female from the 1800's

China cabinet filled with daily enamelware dinnerware.
All the rage of any middle class homemaker.
This beauty even has a door to conceal items.
Enough room to even place your kerosene lamp.

Then we have the latest pie safe with gorgeous tin pierced doors.
Painted in the red color that everyone is talking about.

Look at those deep shelves.
Perfect to store many a pie or homemade cake.
Plus the trencher on top would be great to knead your dough
for that wonderful bread recipe you were hankering to make.

These two new pieces would be a great asset to
your new modern kitchen.

What do you think?
Wouldn't you all fall in love with these?

Kitchen Blessings To All!

  3. I love that the cupboard looks like it has been well used. Handmade pies can be a work of art. In the old days it seems like women were so talented in making them. Also seems like now a days it cost a lot if you don't grow your own fruit. Great cupboards. You will sell them fast I bet. Gonna be warm tomorrow Janice! Breathe in Breathe out!! XOXO Love Fran.
