Monday Montage

Finally the floor is completed.
Bob worked until 7:30p Saturday to finish up the tile.

We were able to find some of the original tile and then
had to add smaller tiles to fill in the rest.
The smaller tiles will be covered with furniture,
so no one will ever know.

Alas, we were not able to go to Breckenridge,
but I made Bob take a break for a few hours on Saturday
to shop some local antique stores.

Then we had lunch at one of our local haunts on the river.
We shared pork pot stickers with a sweet & sour sauce.
After that we both then had a chicken chipolte sandwich on a bun with BBQ sauce,
lettuce, tomato and pickles served with a chipolte mayo.
Our sandwich's came with either fries or soup.
Bob decided on chili, while I had the cabbage soup.
It was yummy and a well deserved break for Bob.

Below are the goodies I was able to find.

Three Ginger Crocks.
I love the combination of the ginger glaze with
the muted white of the crock colors in these bottles.
The bottle on the right is a Ginger Beer Bottle.
Ginger Beer Bottles were originally used to market ginger and herb beer
plus other carbonated beverages in the late 1800;s to the early 1900's.
Ginger bottles are also found in both a brown or white glaze.
I prefer the ginger colored glaze though.

Two very primitive wood print stamps.
The designs are all hand carved.

A Wood Butter Paddle.

An Early 1900's Beaver Skin Top Hat.

The paper maiche bunny on the left is the newest one.

A Burlap Carrot.

Early hand turned wood bowl.
Inside the bowl a fun little stick and fern nest.
I plan on adding a fabric egg to it.
Finally this funky brush.
I forsee this as part of a Halloween display as a witch broom.

What do you think of this weeks montage?
Comments appreciated!

Spring Blessings to all!
Janice
