Sunday Starts

 It may not be on the calendar yet,

however Autumn is in the air here.

My first Fall start is this Brenda Gervais one.

I Love Fall Most of All.

Fall is my favorite season...just wish 

Winter did not follow.

I have had this pattern for years.

Never liked the orange color for the pumpkin.

I decided to change lots of colors in this.

Orange pumpkin- CCW Autumn Spice

Red Berries- DMC 400

Green Acorns-DMC 581

Brown Acorns- CCW Hickory Sticks

Crow- Weeks Charcoal

I decided to add both green and brown acorns

into this piece like the acorns here in

my neck of the woods.

Don't get me wrong, Brenda is a fantastic

designer...just sometimes I like to

tweak things as I see them.

Next I started another little sampler.

This one is called Eliza's Little Sampler.

Another stitch for my Heritage wall.

This one will I will add in initials of 

my paternal grandparents 

with their children.

Even though the second 

set of this alphabet is the eyelet stitch,

I am enjoying doing it.

The designer also said you could do

these in regular cross stitches,

or even smyrna ones, but I liked 

the look of the eyelets for this piece.

So I am going to get on the cross stitch

bandwagon and only stitch samplers

for Sampler September.

I already have 4 that I am currently working on.

AB 1816 Quaker Sampler.

The following 4 will be added

 into my daily rotation now for 

the entire month.

A small start on each thus far.

First is Mary Hill 1854 by

Needlework Press.

My son Matt has been bugging me when

will I stitch a piece with his name on it.

This is the one I decided to do.

His favorite color is green and there is lots of

it in this piece.

I already changed the border flower color.

Instead of Ye Olde Gold, I am doing

these in Summer sky.

Doing this on 36ct Rhyolite by

Weeks Dye Works.

Next is Hannah Ann Wallace 1850

by With Thy Needle & Thread.

Am doing this one for my daughter.

My first day on this one I finished

the one alphabet.

The secondary alphabet is 

the petite stitch (one over one)

UGH

Plus 2 of the motifs are also 1 over 1.

UGH again.

I already tried stitching the letter "A".

I frogged it out because to me it did

not look like the letter at all.

Now what do I do?

Stitching this on 32ct Pyrite 

by Cedar River Linen,

using all the called for floss.

Then I started The Winter is Past

by Blackbird Designs.

This one I will add in my name with Bob's.

plus our wedding date. 

Am stitching this on 36ct Fresco

by Picture This Plus using all

the called for floss.

The 4th new one I wanted to start

is on hold right now.

I ordered this pattern to honor

my parents.

It is The Pink House Sampler

by Plum Street.

I have the linen and called for floss,

however the pattern has been backordered

Was supposed to get it by Sept. 3rd...

well hat has not happened yet.

In other news,

last week Bob had a horrible toothache.

Kept telling him to call the dentist to no avail.

He thought it would go away.

Our friend Ed finally convinced him

to make an appt.

He made the appt and brought me out of retirement

I worked the store for him.

The very next day he had to have a root canal done.

Also last week we had 2 days of tornadic

weather all around us.

The sirens kept going off.

One touched down 20 minutes North of us.

More tornadoes touched down

a few miles North of my brother too.

My son gets the weather notifications

for our county.

When he received the tornado warnings,

he kept calling me to see if we were ok.

He knows I am afraid of bad storms.

It  was nice he cared about me.

Actually since mom passed, he has been

calling me more often now.

I think he is worried about me.
