January is over...
but the snow is not.
These are my 2026 Winter displays.
My mom sewed this pillow up for me
years ago...and I will treasure forever.
Here in the North, most of the horses will
be sporting their outdoor blankets.
I decided to give mine a wool blanket too.
all of the mittens.
I like to keep up my living room tree
through January.
We spend our evenings here with
a fire in the fireplace most nights.
It is very cozy in the long Winter nights.
This snow fella my dad made and I bring
him out each Winter too.
Once again I took off all of the ornaments.
Just left the icicles on.
So simple and magical at night.
I adore this lil pillow too...but not handmade.
Brought out my Beemis Snowman.
I had a pair of socks I was going to throw away.
They had holes in them...
but decided to wash one and it fit perfectly
on his head.
out of brown yarn.
Which one do you like?
In other news,
We went back to the grocery store
for more food.
I inquired about the cashier.
Was told she is alright and was actually
working that night later on.
She passed out because she had not eaten.
I sure hope she takes care of herself.
Yesterday we had more snow.
Phil the PA groundhog saw his shadow...
but the Canadian groundhog
Wiarton Willie predicted
an early Spring.
I am going with his prediction
Am taking Bob in this morning
for an MRI.
He has been having daily headaches.
Hoping nothing major is going on.
The county we live in is running out
of salt for the roads. EGAD
I hope we dont get much more snow....
however it snowed again yesterday.
Snowing right now too. UGH
Winter Blue Blessings To All!
Janie

Just perfect touches in your home! I like the feed sack snowman! I like the wool sock hat - of course, I'm partial to wool. Prayers for your husband. T-a few days....
ReplyDeleteGood morning! I'm partial to brown~such a cute Snowman. Your icicle tree is magical!
ReplyDeleteAs a kid I had a horse statue collection and would have given anything to have that pull toy to add. I also like the sock. Hope MRI gives good answers.
ReplyDeleteI am going with the Canadians too.
ReplyDeleteLove your decorations. I have not heard much about salt here.
Praying for a good test for your husband.
Cathy
I didn't know Canada saw the groundhog too-will go with too-smiles. prayers for your husband. I loved seeing your winter displays I like both hats-could just switch them around hugs stay warm we have a bit of a warm up here-need to get out to do my errands
ReplyDeleteI like the Canadian prediction too, but I have a feeling their groundhog was wrong. Our MI groundhog also predicted 6 more weeks of winter. :(
ReplyDeleteGlad the cashier is doing ok.
I like your winter trees and snowmen.
Praying Bob's MRI comes out good.
I am so glad you keep a tree up too. I feel less alone! My big one is down but I moved one about six feet tall but skinny into the living room and put my woodland ornaments on it so it is all birds and deer, snowflakes and leaves. And I have snowfolk around the house. I need the sparkly lights. I love every single touch in your beautiful home. As for winter, I feel like if we get out of this in six weeks, we'll be lucky. It's grim!
ReplyDeleteI actually like the sock cap, the best! I always love your decorations. I'm glad the cashier is well. I hope the MRI will reveal the, cause of Bob's headaches and that it is nothing serious.
ReplyDeleteJanie, this year was the first time I left my tree up most of January! It really kept it cozy and lighter to me! I needed it this year! That glimmer of light and hope. I absolutely LOVE your decor!!
ReplyDeleteLove all your sweet winter vignettes. I like the “stocking” cap.
ReplyDeleteI prefer Wharton Willie’s prediction.
Our county is short on salt and until this recent storm not much was needed. Was it just poor planning?
Prayers for hubby.
Your snowmen and Christmas decorations and pillows are so nice.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know the salt was running out but I am not surprised. I don't think we use salt in GA.
All your displays are lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update on the cashier!!
Snowing here too but it warmed up. It's 20 degrees!!
Wonderfully warm, yet wintry, touches. I still have lights and trees up - some intentionally and some not so much so. I have a hard time giving up the warmth of the lights of Christmas when the darkness continues. And then there's just the "I don't wanna" part of putting everything away LOL. I knew I'd be late this year with going up to the lake but then getting sick and having some other "stuff" to deal with has made it even later. I pay absolutely no attention to the groundhog stuff. Here in Nod there isn't a snowball's chance that we would ever have LESS than 6 weeks more of winter at this point that there would be no point thinking otherwise. I hope the MRI results came back ok. (Love that horse of yours!!)
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty tree. Love that horse! Smiling snowman in that fabulous basket is sweet!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI love the crochet hat, it reminds me of the hats my boys wore when they were little.
Thank you for the update on the cashier. I too hope she takes care of herself, that is scary.
Praying for Bob.
Sending hugs,
Carla
All pretty decor items. I really love snowmen. We didn't get much snow, mostly ice. Not used to that very often in AL. Stay safe and warm.
ReplyDeleteLots of blues-my favorite color - all is just right for a wintery, woodsy, cozy winter home to settle into at the day’s end. And yes - leave those trees up with twinkle lights - perfect! Hoping the MRI went well and your mom is settling jn.
ReplyDeleteHappy February even if the rodent says more winter. Your snowmen and displays are very festive and even though they say winter, they sure have a warmth about them! More snow heading our way tomorrow along with bitter cold. Hang in there, next month brings spring hopes!
