Today is Christmas in our bedroom.
This little area next to my closet.
The black cabinet in the back is Bob's.
He keeps his Bi-Pap supplies in there.
Also his Bi-Pap machine is next to the bed.
I don't want to mess with it,
so it is in the pics.
View looking in coming from the hall.
I did a simple faux tree in here.
I made the stockings and the large candy cane.
Rye baskets and wool in this hanging cabinet.
Candle and pair of mittens to the left.
A prim Santa hanging on the right.
My little bucket bench that I use for my shoe collection.
One of my many red and white quilts.
Stitched this up years ago on Onasburg fabric.
Found free cross stitch images online,
and just stitched it up...wanted it to look like
a small wreath of images.
Sold these Santa's years ago.
My creation.
The pillow was given to Bob and I from
an antique vendor when we first got into antiques.
This person is now a vendor in our store.
We still remain friends all these years.
A vintage bulb on top of some fresh cranberries.
The Noel pillow I stitched up as well.
Sold these at the store at one time too.
Love the darling colonial girl print.
Noel up close.
Used the leftover coverlet pieces from
when I sewed up the stockings.
Corner view with more quilts.
Antique pierced tin lantern.
I so love these.
Pumpkin pine cabinet.
Windsor chair display.
Top of cabinet.
This Child's chair is a repo.
I plan on painting black at some point.
Leather books.
More of my handmade Santa's.
Did not make any this year.
Small crock jug and ink holder.
Another Santa hanging I made.
The other one I purchased from a friend.
My desk.
I always wonder who sat at this one...
and what they did.
My side of the bed.
Foot of the bed.
The stockings hanging I sewed up from
antique coverlet pieces.
Tucked in a coverlet red heart with greens.
In other news,
only 20 days until Christmas now.
Do you have your shopping done?
I do thankfully.
Just have to do my Christmas cards now.
We are going into a cold spell for a few days now.
This mornings low was 5. Brrr
The high only in the 20's. More Brrr
At least I do not have to drive to work again
until Monday and am working from home today.
Tomorrow I am hosting my family for
Christmas dinner.
Just my siblings and their spouses...
and of course my mom.
Will do another dinner for the kids either
Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
Hope everyone stays warm and has a festive weekend!
Main Event Blessings To All!

Hello Janice,
ReplyDeleteAll the splashes of red make for a very festive feel. You really have embraced the Christmas spirit.
So many interesting details and we are very much in awe of your own creative abilities. Santas, cushions, quilts...you can obviously turn your hand to most things requiring a sewing machine.
And, so many Christmas dinners to cater for....
I need you to come to this side of the state and decorate for me. I love it! The old shoes are so cool. I love the quilts. You have so many great things tucked in all over.
ReplyDeleteHope the supper goes well tonight.
Your place reminds me of my favorite antique shop that is inside a house. Every room is set up like a real house - charming like yours! I like all your creations.
ReplyDeleteEven tho that antique rug on the wall is tattered, it is still a beauty. I still have some cutter quit parts left from when I made dolls and should really consider using them to finish some of those doll bodies remaining here.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy mom has the vintage bulbs. I am going to ask her if I can have them when I visit. Or at least two, my sister might want a couple too.
Are the leather books in English? I have a few leather books, in German.
Happy Weekend ... enjoy your family.
Carla
Very festive! I always love seeing your primitive Christmas decorations.

Those shoes are amazing. We have come a long way baby. You have a lot of gorgeous red antiques and items in your home - looks so ready for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as always. Especially love the leather books and crocks!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your family time. So very important!
All your displays and decorating warms the heart! Have a wonderful family dinner.

All your Christmas decorations are fabulous. I love the red and white.
ReplyDeleteWe don't buy presents any more, but I have made a few things.
Lovely everything! Red looks good on your bedroom. I, too, love those wonderful old leather books. Enjoy your family celebration this weekend. Cold here too…warmed up a small bit today but snowed all day. Not a ton but snow nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteGood evening I loved everything-thank you for sharing-enjoy your family at Christmas time hugs
ReplyDeleteOh Janice, I can't think of any better spot. This is so beautiful and I love every bit of it. (You also remind me that when I can use my arm better or remember with Rick to get out my red and white quilt for the bed!) I love the things you have made and they work so beautifully with all your antiques. And I'm glad you left the bi-pap machine in. It's real life and that's what we live. Hardly any of my shopping is done and I finally realized it's time to tell the out of towners that no gifts can be expected before Twelfth Night (after the 23rd I can drive again, I hope!). Well, it will happen when it does! I have to let that go. Meanwhile, have a wonderful family dinner.
