Oh Tannenbaum

 Or I should say...
Oh Tannebaums...as in two trees.

First the living room one.

You will only find an assortment of red mittens,
gold and silver ornaments on this tree...
along with  few gold doves and handmade red pears.

Decided to add some unusual items
underneath this tree.

Like this bowl filled with flax.

Which I almost forgot that I did hide one more elf
here for the grands to find.

At night it is so pretty in here.
Not sure if you can tell, but the lights
are red and white on this one.

With the lights of the tree and around
our door frame...the only other light
we use is my second Ott light so I can stitch.
There are also more lights with the other
door frame and of course the tabletop tree
from our hall.
It is wonderful.

The second tree has blue and white lights.

More handmade gingers, stockings,
hooked redware plates.
There also are gingerbread cookies,
but those were purchased.
Plus a few silver and gold ornaments.
The white mittens my aunt made me
years ago. She has since passed.
I cherish all of her mittens she made me.
Even some of the red ones on my other tree.

Underneath this tree I placed my prim winder.

Close ups of some of the items.

At night it is pretty in here too.
We trade off our nights in both rooms.
Tonight will be this one.
So you will find Bob laying on the couch,
while I stitch in my chair.
We will have the electric fireplace on.
it will be warm and toasty for us while
watching tv after dinner.

In other news,
we went out to dinner Thursday evening
with Bobs daughter and her husband.
We went to a Mexican restaurant that I found
out about 50 years ago.
It is still owned my the same family,
and the food is still wonderful.
Second generation is now running it.
Heather and I had their 3 chicken enchilada dinner.
Frank her husband had this huge taco salad.
Bob had the combo plate.
Tostada, taco, cheese enchilada and mini burrito.
Our dinners all included refried beans and rice.
Speaking of the mini burritos,
I started my kids out with their mini burritos.
It was just the right size for a lil kiddo.
Then of course my grands were introduced to them.
Its a family tradition for us too.

Today you will find me stitching,
watching some Christmas movies,
and stitching.

 Tannenbaum Blessings To All!
Janice

  4. Your trees are just beautiful! I love that you switch out rooms to sit in. I think it's a good day to stay in. We have a family Christmas party late this afternoon, so I'll have to get out.

  5. Mexican food is my favorite! Good to start them young. My first exposure that I remember was when I was around 5 - rice and refried beans and corn tortillas with butter. Yum.

Your trees are nice. I use to have several trees but now it's all I can do to put up the one. I'll be looking for a slimmer tree for next year after Christmas. I saw one yesterday that wasn't pencil thin, just slender. It looked nice.
