Whippy Wednesdy

Up next is my monthly progress
on a few of my stitch pieces.

First is Sarah Casey Unwin.
Looking at the pattern the second
row of windows has the one on
the left smaller than the others.

I like symmetry, so I had to stitch
the window on the right the same
as the left.
Then the pattern had 8 stitches on the left
of the first windows...but only 7 stitches
on the right of all of the windows.
I stitched 8 on both sides.

This is one big red house.
I still have 2 more row of windows to go.

With November here now,
I wanted to bring back out
this Prairies Schooler Turkey.

I did not get very far on this one last year.

Finished a few more leaves.
Not even sure if it will get done this year,
but will plug away when I can.

Finally Feniscowles Hall.
This is my tribute stitch for
my paternal grandparents
and their parents.
I finished the grass on the left.
YAY.
This month will continue on
going up on the house now.
Plus stitch to the right up to
where the grass ends.

Am loving this even though it is
taking forever to do.
It will be all worth it in the end.

In other news,

Mary from Merry Windy Farms
asked me if this was a winder on top.
Yes it is an early kite string winder.
Can you imagine using one of these to
fly your kite in the early days?

Looks like we might get some bad news
on Sunday morning....
in the form of our first snowfall.
Its been nice having temps in the high 50's.
Hate to see it go, but it is inevitable.

Saturday we move my  mom out
to my sister's house.
She will stay there until the weeks
between Christmas and New Year's.
where she will stay with Bob and I
for these two weeks.
We did do a urine test to see if she has
a UTI and still waiting for the results.

I also must confess am starting to decorate
for Christmas around the abode.
I will have a Turkey display in the kitchen though.
I like to start early so I can enjoy it more.
Bob put up the lights last week outside.
He figured it was so nice out he might as well.
We wont turn those on though until
after Thanksgiving.

Well off to work I go.

Happy Hump Day Blessings To All!
Janice

  1. My favorite stitch of yours is Feniscowles Hall!
I hope mom’s move goes smoothly and she continues to recover.
I normally don’t start my Christmas decorating until after Thanksgiving, but with it being so late again this year, I will start earlier so I can enjoy it along with you 🎅🏻🎄

  4. Ahhh...Feniscowles Hall keeps calling to me...it's been in several of my carts since it first came out. There is something so very melancholy about it to me. I think it's the verse...or perhaps knowing that it now stands in ruins. So tempting...so daunting.... Snow in the forecast here too. Grrrr.
