Well I finally fully finished more items.
Some that I finished stitching back in 2023.
One of those older stitches was
this pattern by Bent Creek.
I took out the fork & spoon motif,
then added the year.
Replaced the heart with another leaf.
Stitched on 32ct Buttermilk linen.
This piece had some green in it,
while not being a yellow color.
Just wondering if it was mislabeled.
The fabric on the right will be the back.
After cutting out both pieces,
I placed both pieces together
with right sides in.
Pinned all around.
Then stitched all around.
Turned right side back out an stuffed
with fabric pieces for that old lumpy look.
I finished Turkey Trot last year.
Just framed it a week ago.
This one was stitched on 35ct Old Salem linen.
Then I wanted to finally finish
another piece I stitched back in 2023.
The patten is Wee One Santa 2022
by Heart In Hand Needleart.
Stitched on a mystery cream linen.
I changed Santa's coat to a red instead
of the called for Pink.
I do need to fix the corner on the right I see.
The bow on the present was also suppose
to be stitched in pick.
I opted for the darker red of the Santa.
Then some of the pink flowers were changed
again to another red.
Santa will make his debut in one of
my Christmas displays.
The turkeys will be featured
in my November CupboardScape.
Stay tuned.
In other news,
Bob and I went out to dinner with our friends
last night to our fav Italian restaurant.
I had Chicken Parmesan over angel hair pasta.
Bob wanted their Jambalaya.
We both liked our food.
Our friends both had Baked Spaghetti with
big ole meatballs.
They liked theirs too.
We usually go out to dinner with them
once a month, but we had not gone out
to dinner with them since July.
With my mom's issue and with them
trying to get their house ready to sell...
it was hard for us to get together.
We did make a date for December though already.
It was nice catching up.
Speaking of my mom,
she is giving my sister a hard time.
She is supposed to start using her right arm now.
She is refusing to use it and do her therapy.
Screaming at my sister like a kid.
I dont know what is going to happen...
but she needs to do her therapy.
Well need to get my own work done.
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!
I know I will.
Friday Blessings To All!
Janice

Good morning-I Loveeee your finished stitches and love that pieces ended up as a pillow too. So sorry about your Mom, she is probably unsettled not being in her own home. she may need to go to a rehab facility if that is available. or if her insurance would cover in home physical therapy that would be easier on your sister-medicare will pay for that the doctor needs to order it That's what Larry has from time to time
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing your finished pieces. I like the changes you made to Jolly Santa.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your mom. It's so hard to know how to handle these situations, I'm glad it's not you handling it on your own though.
Nice finishes. Could be your mother is angry that she is being dependent on those she raised and taking it out on them. Could also maybe be early stages of dementia? Sadly that does manifest into anger at times. Sorry she is being a burden to her family.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely LOVE Turkey Trot and your changes from pink to red on Jolly are much better!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your mom. The elderly can be difficult to deal with. It is not easy seeing them age. Sad to say it is good that another family member is witnessing this behavior so they can’t think you are making this up.
Prayers the situation improves.
So many of my ordered linens look green. Hate that. But I love that Trot and your Santa! Sorry about therapy and mom.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your projects, you are very talented and creative too, I like the changes you make.
ReplyDeletePraying for your family.
xx oo
Carla
All you projects are lovely.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear your mom is not cooperating with your sister. Will pray things improve.
Yay on the wonderful finishes!! Turkey Trot is a gem....and your changes to Wee Santa are great. (I'm not a fan of pink...especially at Christmas.) Awww...so sorry to read of your mom difficulties. Continuing to keep her - and you and the rest of family - in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteI like the Santa in red. I am so sorry about your mom. Glad you have each other.
ReplyDeleteYou’re such a busy gal - but my, what you get done each week! Agreed on the Santa, much better in red. I’m sure you’ve thought of so many things already to do to help your mom - I do understand (while my mom still lives on her own, she’s a “spitfire” to put it nicely.). Maybe if therapy will lead to her going back home she’d be more willing? Everyone wants to be at home, and she may work harder if she knows that’s the goal? Maybe the holidays are on her mind - she wants to make her homemade rolls and can’t? Sending my prayers your way.
ReplyDeleteYour turkeys might be my favorite. I love the soft colors. Wishing your family good luck with mom. I wish I had a good answer or suggestion for you all. At least your sister now knows what you were experiencing.
