December CupboardScape

Good afternoon blogging buddies.
Tis the last day of the year.
Time to say a fond farewell to 2014.
But before it goes...
I have one more CupboardScape to show you.
Unfortunately the holiday virus paid a visit to us...
of all days on Christmas Eve,
and has spread to all of us until today.
Therefore I was unable to post this earlier.

I created Rudolf myself,
and placed our mischief elf on top.

They were both eagerly waiting for Santa to arrive
and load up the sleigh.

Rudolf even had his sleigh bells ready.

Santa's suit was dry cleaned by the elfs and hung up with care.
In hope that soon St Nick himself would soon be there.

His hat was placed here for good measure....
get it? Its in a dry wood measure.

With a few presents and Santa's belt
for the team to be up up and away!

Rudolf wanted me to let everyone know
that the sticks which made up his legs and antlers
came all the way from Florida.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas
and here 's hoping we all have a prosperous
New Year.

Snow Magic

Good evening sweet blogging buddies.
Well our weathermen here are saying
possibly no snow for Christmas here.
I believe snow makes everything magical.

I loved making snow angels in the snow...
snow forts and snowmen.

My mom made this pillow for me years ago.
Yesterday she called me.
I knew she had been crying.
My dad past away 21 years ago on Dec 21st and we buried him
on Christmas Eve.
Mom is having a difficult time this year and is missing him
more than ever.
Please say a wee prayer for my mom and lets hope
we all have some snow magic this season.

Fantastic Florida Find

Good evening sweet blogging buddies.
I want to show off our
fantastic Florida find.
Try saying that three times. LOL

When Bob and I saw this in an antique store...
well we knew it had to come home with us.

An awesome early original red blanket chest.
Circa 1800.

Amazing red paint.

Surely was used from this wear.

Of course Ace kitty had to check it out.
When you open it to the left is this compartment you can
also put things in to.
Our new coffee table...
and place to hold al of my primitive magazines.

A perfect match for my prim sleigh and display don't you think?

Thank you for your kind words from my last post.
I have come to the realization that I am not going
to be able to finish all that I wanted to by Saturday.
Breathing in and out...and letting go...
in and out...in and out.

Fantastic Florida Find Blessings To All!
Made you read that tongue twister again! :-)

A Peek Into My Kitchen

Good evening sweet blogging buddies.
I cannot believe December is half over.
Plus Christmas is only 10 days away.
10 days

Our family Christmas party is at our house this Friday
and I am scrambling trying to finish up my wrapping
and still working on my
December CupboardScape.
Where has the time gone?
Are you scrambling like me these days trying to get things done?
Or do you have everything done?
Now I see why some folks stress out at this time.

Below are pics of the kitchen tree.

Just a simple one with quince, cranberry garland
and vintage silver icicles.

My little display.

I placed the tree in a grain measure
and wrapped the base in an old small rag rug that was my gramma B's.

Next to the tree I added a small flower arrangement in a firkin.
Placed the firkin in my trencher and added two other bowls to the side.

Finally added a bowl with prim apples and potpourri.

More decorating pics later...
have to get back to Christmas wrapping.
Santa, any chance on moving Christmas a week?
No..guess not...cause I know My grands won't like that idea.

Animals Running Amok

Good evening sweet blogging friiends.
There is a legend that says on Christmas Eve
the animals can talk.
Well, a few have popped into my Christmas decor...
wonder what they are thinking?

This is my new candle table.

Seems this snow bunny hopped on and made himself compfy.

Then I caught this sweet lil mouse nibbling on some berries.

May the Christmas magic stay in our hearts all year round.

He was a presnent from granddaughter Mikayla.

Added poinsettias and green eucalyptus to my zinc pitcher.

Wreaths on the doors to our red cabinet with red mittens.

Post Birthday Post

Good evening sweet blogging friends.
Yesterday was my 50 ish...56th birthday.
We celebrated quietly at home.
Bob made me dinner
and even bought me a cake with yummy butter cream frosting.

Here is another bit of my Christmas decor.

This year I decided to do a mini arrangement in our hall.

Just a simple Christmas tree in a firkin,
with a blue slip jug tucked in back.

Then added these two beeswax goodies.
An old world Santa and tree.

Keeping things a bit simple this year.
According to Bob though...
6 trees is NOT normal.
Oh but honey it is when you use to have 8 at her other house. LOL

How many Christmas trees do you put up?

Back To The North Pole

Good evening sweet blogging buddies.
The jolly ole man himself arrived to our home
the other day.
He popped out of this suitcase
directly from Florida.
Although he was not happy to be back in the cold weather,
he knew Christmas was right around the corner
and he needed to get back to the North Pole. He He

This vintage circa 1940's jolly ole elf
was calling out to me....
please please take me home.
I could not resist as I thought he would fit
perfectly in with my silver decorated tree.

One of my horses all decked out for the holidays.

These two snow folk will greet you as you walk into our kitchen.
