Where Is Spring

Good evening Sweet blogging friends.
What can I say but life happens.
Took some time off last week to help Bob.
We were without a furnace and I needed to be there to stoke the fire
in our fireplace...as Bob cannot lift anything over 5 pounds for 5 weeks.
Now I know how hard it was for our forefathers.
However, I was a mad woman when I called our furnace man asking
when the new one would be installed.
When he finally arrived, he told us well you guys like primitives
so much that you should like roughing it a bit.
Luckily he is our neighbors son...and I had to admit I did laugh when he said it.
But at the tie I was bringing all that wood in...
well every load I brought in the more mad I was getting...
and it was days before the new funace arrived.

On another note,
please send out a prayer for our Arkansas friends out there.
More storms in Mississippi and Arkansas and Kansas again,
so please pray that no one else gets hurt.

Here in Michigan we are wondering where Spring went.
I think it arrived on the calendar?
But no signs here yet.
Except for my house.

Hope you enjoy some of my inner Spring.

If you click on the pic..yoou will notice that our Shadow kitty
has now claimed my burlap chair as his scratching pole.
I will need to add some patches.
Any ideas ladies?

My wax bunny.

This cart was a birthday present from Bob a few years ago.
I added some Spring tulips and daffoldils to it...
silk of course as my kitties would eat the real ones.

Finally some of my strawberries, little raggedy and memories pillow.

Has Spring arrived in your neck of the woods?

April CupboardScape

A Tisket
A Tasket
Come see my
Easter Baskets!

Good afternoon sweet friends.
I've missed you all!
Been catching up on all of your activities,
but not commenting as I would like to.
Just not enoough time in the day lately.

Wow a lot has happened since my last post.
Bob had surgery Monday for his hernia
and is mending well at home.

We also had a tornado hit the town our store
is at last Saturday.
Twisted metal, trees down,
signs and chimneys down.
Fortunately our store was spared,
but we were without power for 2 days.
We live 10 minutes south of the store,
and the winds were pretty high here
with pea sized hail.

Then the furnace guy took away our furnace
and left us in the lurch for 2 nights
of 30 to 40 degree temps.
He did not realize the temps were going to drop...
and we went from 60+ temps to snow the day after he pulled.
the old one out.
Brrr...I had to get wood from our woodpile
before going to work and more after
as Bob cannot lift anything heavy for 6 weeks now.
Thankfully our fireplace kept us a bit warm.

Been so busy,
I forgot to post my monthly CupboardScape.

Baskets and Bunnies.

Paper Mache bunnies.

Feather basket.

I love old wood advertising boxes.
This latest one I found at the New Haven show.
Perfect for Easter...too bad the chocolate is gone.
Then again, not sure if i would want to eat it anyway
since this box is from 1884. LOL

An early splint basket.
This one is usually kept by the couch to keep my latest
projects in.

More of my bunny collection.
I simply love their different personalities.

A willow basket shaped as a heart.

Tucked in this spring quilt.
At least I have some tulips inside
as the ones outside are still sleeping.

Lastly this Longerberger basket.
Not old but vintage.
A signed one dated from 1989 which is when I bought
this from QVC....before I became more primitive. LOL

I hope everyone has a fantastic Easter.
I have a ham in the fridge, along with some other veggies.
Dinner with family.
What are your plans for Easter?

Breckenridge Was Awesome

Good Wednesday morning dear sweet friends.
This week I am dragging a bit.
I think working and doing shows these past three weekends
has hit me now.
We reached 63 yesterday. WOOHOO!

I have to say Breckenridge was an awesome show.
Prims everywhere.
We bought that awesome blue cabinet there.

I also bought a few more goodies
from the New Haven show.
More on those later.
For now, hope you enjoy what I got to see in person.

This is our new blue cabinet when we first saw it.
Did we do good?

Breckenridge Show

Good Sunday morning sweet friends.
Well we woke up to a frosty morning,
but yesterday arriving at home...
the frogs were singing.
I love that sound so surely Spring is near...
or so I thought until I looked outside to see that frost.

The following pics were from our booth at the
Breckenridge show.
85% of our goodes sold.
We had a very good show!

This is the piece we finally got out of the van.
Had to for our New Haven, MI show this weekend.
Meet our new tv cabinet.
Now Bob is going to create a cabinet for the tv
and hang just a tad above.
Do you like?

Well its time to meet friends for breakfast
and day 2 of the show.
Even though this show is an eclectic one
and not all prim, I did manage to buy some more goodies
for our home.
Cannot wait to show you all!

Goodies

Good evening sweet friends.
So miss you all.
It has been extremely busy since the last show.
I have not had a chance to email you back
with your comments..
but one question I can answer..
was the plants by the uncle Sam were
Rosemary plants,
and they smelled wonderful!

Bob and I did purchase a few things.

A scrub box..love the patina on this old beauty.
I placed this on my kitchen counter for my dish cloths.

I had the pleasure of meeting Cheryl Jones from
Cabin in the Woods.
She sells these wonderful yummy candles
for A Simple Life Magazine.
This one is Cornbread.

Then I saw this folk art egret.
Living here by the river
we see these shore birds all of the time.

Then I just had to have this wood bowl
with these metal staples holding it together.

It has this rusty piece on the inside that I also loved.

To complete my bowl set here is a wooden flat spoon
that I bought from Cabin Creek 1812.
They had some awesome wooden pieces that they create themselves.
Even though it is a reproduction...I still wanted it.

The most important item we purchased..
well I will have to show you later
as it is still in the van.

Its a wonderful piece though...
and yes I am being a tease. ;-)

To all who have asked about our Ace kitty.
As my granddaughter Mikalya calls him...
Ace is back to being a brat cat.
Taking in him in and outside all those
times back and forth to the hospital, vet(s),
he suddenly likes being an outdoor cat.
Needless to say,
we have had to wrangle him up many times now
as he sneaks outside when the door opens.
Hence the reason for being called the
BRAT CAT!
