Gramma Quick

Good morning dear friends.
Work week almost over.
TGIF.
Well the other night,
Mikayla scared me a wee bit.
She came running out of her bedroom into the living room.
Screaming
"Gramma"
"Gramma"
"Quick"
"Come into the bedroom."
I said,
"What's wrong Mikayla?"
She again said,
"Quick gramma you have to come into the bedroom."
She was so frantic that I got off the couch as fast as I could and
we both sped into the bedroom.
As I went into the bedroom, I said what is the problem?"
She said,
"Gramma ~
Look up there"
"Ace is chillin' like a villain!"
Fortunately the chillin villain stayed on top of the cabinet
so I could take a picture of him. LOL

Kitties too!

The Modern Kitchen

Good afternoon sweet friends.
No snow today but the skies are getting dark in the West.
The rain is a coming.

Been absent for a few days.
I do apologize.
Had to travel this week for work,
and so tired when I get home that I do not even have
the energy to visit with you all.

This post is a few pics of a modern kitchen...
well let's say a modern kitchen for the hard working
female from the 1800's

China cabinet filled with daily enamelware dinnerware.
All the rage of any middle class homemaker.
This beauty even has a door to conceal items.
Enough room to even place your kerosene lamp.

Then we have the latest pie safe with gorgeous tin pierced doors.
Painted in the red color that everyone is talking about.

Look at those deep shelves.
Perfect to store many a pie or homemade cake.
Plus the trencher on top would be great to knead your dough
for that wonderful bread recipe you were hankering to make.

These two new pieces would be a great asset to
your new modern kitchen.

What do you think?
Wouldn't you all fall in love with these?

Come Sit A Spell

Good afternoon sweet friends.
What can I say,
Mother Nature sure is being mean to us
folks here in my neck of the woods.
Mixture of rain, ice and snow today.
Plus it sure is COLD...brrr.

Sitting here at the store,
I thought I would invite you to come sit a spell with me.
Even play some checkers on the old game board I have.

Our newest find are these two early 1800 settle benches
with a trestle table.

An early 1800 checkerboard.
I simply love the patina on this one.

Back side of one of the settle benches.

Now all we need is a warm comfy fire
and we would be all set.
Now how do I tell Bob we need a fireplace in our store. LOL

What a Crock

Good morning dear friends.
From rain to snow.
Yuk
Expecting 2 inches.
Did I say YUK!!!

Two early crocks.
Both from New York.
The one on the left has an eagle decal.
Silly Bob thought it was a real eagle crock.
I had to rub a little of the decal off to prove him wrong.
Two preserve crocks on each end.
Water pitcher in the middle.
Do you like stoneware crocks or brown ones?
Or maybe both?

Happy weekend my friends.
Will you please tell Mother Nature that it is Spring.

Yellow Pine Beauty

Good morning dear friends!
Rain Rain and more Rain...
but it is better than SNOW.

We picked up this yellow pine blanket chest last week.

This yellow pine beauty has some wonderful patina.

Have you ever seen any yellow pine pieces?

Its Showtime

Good afternoon friends.
The show was a big hit with our prim customers.
Without further ado, here are the show pics.

Warning long picture post...

First a few of our booth.

Now other prims I spotted.

An early time clock

Sap Bucket

Early Mold

Very large oxen yoke
5 ft across

Cubby cabinet

Prim cabinet...great place to set a TV on.

Hoosier

Quilt

Early doll and carriage

Tabletop slanted desk with legs

Early glass cabinet with subway tiles on top

Hay Rake

Pie Safe

Finally this oddity.

Early 1900 Embalming jar.
There is a plug on the top of the lid
where the hose would go into the fluid
and then the other end would be inserted into the body.

Did you spot any goodies that you would have liked to take home?

Tonight watching the NCAA basketball game.
GO BLUE!!!

Monday Night Blessings To All!

Old Cupboards Are Best

Good morning sweet friends.
The ice is flowing down and hopefully the Spring thaw is here.
The night before the show started,
dealers were able to shop other booths.
Bob bought this little beauty for our kitchen.

Bob could not remember why this red paint looked familiar to him.
I knew right away that it matched our dry sink.
So now I have another dilemma.
We also could not pass up this beauty.
Another dry sink.
I loved this early blue paint and that fabric curtain...
to die for!
Now I have to choose which to keep...
My red dry sink or this new old blue one.
Bob said we should sell one.
NOT
I am keeping both.
Going to put the red one in our laundry room to start a buttery.

Tomorrow we set up for another antique show.
Hopefully I can take pics of this next one.

Show Me The Show Pics

Good morning dear friends.
So the show overall was good...
however, I was sick.
I managed through it though and met some new blogging friends
as well as some of our prim customers.
I know I promised pics of the show,
but being sick I totally forgot.
I did have a few of our booth before the show started.

We shared a booth with dealer friends of ours.
This was their horse.
This beauty had real horse hair and
was sold to a lady who owns a saltbox home.
She told us this would be sitting on her early blanket chest.
She also bought a really cool tavern sign.
My bunnies and eggs were a hit!
A big thank you to Earlene from Primitive Passion Decorating,
as she purchased one of my lil bunnies as well.
Wednesday Blessings To All!
